January is already over  and the Citrus Salon team is warming up for wedding season!  Last years season was a blast!  We got the pleasure of meeting so many beautiful brides and their friends and family.  Even some of our closest friends tied the knot!

Placing the veil on the bride or finishing their makeup with that last touch of lipstick is a special moment for us.  Making brides look and feel beautiful on their wedding day brings us so much joy and we can’t wait for the season to begin.

That’s right!  We’ve got a new addition to the Citrus family and we couldn’t be more happy about it!  Welcome Hollie!  It’s great to have you!

Hollie Matute’s love for hair design began at a young age.  Being the daughter of a stylist, it was inevitable.  Twirling in the chair next to her mother, Hollie watched as her mother transformed her clients into new people.  This young stylist-to-be always knew the path that lay ahead for her.  She would be a creative, hard working and talented hair artist.  Just like her mother.

Hollie’s resume includes working with Paul Mitchell top stylists and hair designing for fashions shows in San Francisco.  Her extensive training in advanced cutting, coloring and styling with Paul Mitchell, Orbe, Unite, Joico and Tigi have lead her to blossom into the creative hair stylist she is today.

Hollies passion for doing what she does best is what lead her to find a home in Citrus Salon in her home town of Martinez.  Her co-workers describe her addition to the Citrus  team as “the cherry on top!”.  Her inspired energetic attitude and her natural talent make her the perfect fit for Citrus Salon.

Craving some change?  A fresh new look for the new year…  Here’s an idea.  If you’re thinking about going short but you want to do something different than the sleek bob or A-line, try a blunt, but still textured bob with long choppy layers. The more I see this look the more I love it.  And, it’s easy to style!  Just blow dry and flat iron as usual, (if needed)  making sure your ends are stick straight, then mist them with some KMS Dry Wax Spray, give your head a good shake and viola, your ends are perfectly piecey!
